Call for papers volume 24, no. 1 – spring 2027

The editorial team of Norsk Gestalttidsskrift is planning a special issue on Gestalt supervision to inform the following questions: how is Gestalt supervision a unique form of supervision? What benefits do Gestalt therapists gain from receiving supervision related to their professional practice? What makes Gestalt supervision «effective»? And how does NGI’s teaching model in Gestalt supervision differ from what is taught in other educational institutions in Europe?

Gestalt therapists in clinical practice such as MNGF are required to receive supervision in the same way as other employees in health care services. The Norwegian Gestalt Institute (NGI) offers a supervisor training that is approved by EAGT. The Norwegian Gestalt Therapist Association’s (NGF) Yearbook 2024 was devoted to supervision and field theory, and in recent issues of Norsk Gestalttidsskrift we have had several articles that deal with supervision. There has also been international attention to Gestalt supervision in recent years. Gestalt Review had, among other things, its own special issue in 2025: Approaches to Gestalt Supervision (volume 29, numbers 1-2).

We hereby invite Gestalt supervisors and supervisees to submit their contributions that can shed light on this field empirically and theoretically, with Norway or other countries as a starting point.

Topics

The special issue will be in English in order to reach an international audience. The editorial team prefers that contributions are written in English but is also willing to help translate any Norwegian contributions.

Possible topics for the special issue could be:

  • The role of the Gestalt supervisor as support for ground
  • Working with different fields in the supervision situation
  • Experiences with Gestalt supervision in relation to other professional groups
  • Reflections from students in Gestalt supervision education
  • Experiences with supervision from the perspective of the supervisee

Other topics may also be relevant.

Deadlines and contacting the editors

Guest editors for the special issue will be Kristine Lauve Steensen and Katrine Borgen. We hope for many exciting contributions. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss whether what you have could be relevant for this issue or not.
